Request for Proposals to be issued for City of Longview 911 Ambulance Services

American Medical Response (AMR), a leading national healthcare corporation, has announced that it will conclude its long-standing provision of 911 ambulance services to the City of Longview and has requested to renegotiate its contractual agreement with the City. This change comes after over a decade of dedicated service to the community.

In response to evolving healthcare market conditions, the City of Longview is proactively taking steps to ensure the continued quality and reliability of its emergency medical services. As part of this commitment, the City is now issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify and select qualified ambulance service providers.

This RFP process is an open invitation to all interested ambulance companies who have the capability and desire to serve the City of Longview community. It reflects the City's dedication to maintaining the highest standards of emergency medical care for its residents.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) packet and comprehensive information regarding the submission process will be published on the City of Longview's official website on January 20, 2024.

American Medical Response has expressed its full support for the City's decision and is committed to ensuring the continued provision of emergency medical services pending a contract award.

The public should expect no interruption in emergency services as the result of this process.
